Geological Research

Currently a PhD Candidate in the Department of Imaging and Applied Physics at Curtin University in Perth, Australia.

Tentative title of PhD: "Microstructural studies on >4300 Ma (million year old) Zircons from Western Australia: constraining the conditions and evolution of the early Earth."  This title is nearly three years old, and will invariably change as what I've been doing the past three years doesn't necessarily relate to this title anymore!

Completed Masters (MSc, Geology) in 2005, with a strikingly similar title of: "Investigation of trace-element and U-Th-Pb Isotopic Variation in >4000 Ma Zircons".

Here's a few (currently very large) photos of zircon-bearing mineral separates and preparation of a SHRIMP (Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe) sample mount.
